Agronomics
Cutting-edge technology; ecological principles; discipline; all of this for a piece of home: a sandwich and a salad. Caleb Dumont - Settler, circa AF45
You went out six hours ago to buy a money counter and you come back with a semi-conscious Gloria and a bag of fertiliser. Old Earth 2D flick
Agronomics is the application of advanced biotechnology, genetic manipulation, and precision environmental control to optimise agricultural systems for both food production and ecological sustainability. It integrates bioinformatics, synthetic biology and nanotechnology to produce crops that are resistant to extreme climates, pests, and diseases, while maintaining or enhancing their nutritional value. Beyond simply increasing yield, agroengineering focuses on creating self-sustaining ecosystems that adapt to fluctuating environmental conditions, ensuring stability in food supply chains even under the pressures of uncertain climates, restricted space or other forms of suboptimal agricultural conditions.
Research
| Tier | 1.000 | A decimal number between 0.0 and ~12.0 indicating the overall level of "advancement" of the science |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Pure | Pure sciences are focused on research and the improvement of knowledge. Applied sciences are too, but to a lesser extent and grant access to more concrete outcomes such as blueprints, governance, and others. |
