"Genetic mastery is the mother of survival" an Old Earth adage once said. Genomics is the true embodiment of this adage: it seeks control over the way traits can modified within a generation and how they are passed on - and why - from one generation to the next.

The field of genomics is a wide domain, primarily concerned in the understanding and control over the genetic makeup of living organisms; with the ultimate goal to improve whatever material one may have started with.
Genomics also plays a supporting role for many medical and cybernetic fields.
