Information science

Information science is the interdisciplinary study of the collection, organisation, storage, retrieval, analysis and dissemination of information. It bridges technology, human behaviour, and organisational systems to manage information effectively and facilitate its use in decision-making, research and communication. Drawing on principles from computer science, data science, library science and cognitive science, it provides tools and frameworks to optimise the flow of information in both physical and digital domains.
