Non-linear physics deals with systems where small changes in initial conditions can lead to significant and often unpredictable outcomes, making it crucial for understanding phenomena related to alternate quantum states and alternate quantum outcomes.
The field is the base for more specialised sub-branches dealing with events and outcomes that are deemed at best unplausible under real conditions and at worst impossible. It also studies how to overcome causality, by quite literally imposing the future onto the present.
