Further advances in macromolecule management and design have helped move forward the Polymers fields. Whether used as substrates, in composite materials or more advanced applications, Polymers have come of age and are opening up to new material capabilities:
- Dynamic and smart materials: adapt to external conditions and/or stimuli
- More sophisticated polymerase, enabling extremely small scale engineering
- Lighter, denser, more tensile and more resistant materials
Reactivity and shape changing are new properties that can be studied, in the light of advances made in other fields.
