Quasi-matter is a broad a class of exotic states of matter that exhibit properties intermediate between traditional matter and energy. This technology involves the manipulation and stabilisation of quasi-particles and quantum field excitations to create materials with unique characteristics not found in standard matter. Quasi-matter systems leverage principles from quantum condensed matter physics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics to produce and control these novel states.

Quasi-particles can include Bogoliubov quasiparticles in superfluids, Majorana fermions in topological insulators, and plasmons in metallic nanostructures. Their alliance with their surrounding environments yield results such as:
