Terraforming

NICE PLANET
WE'LL TAKE IT A nice show from Old Earth, the details of which are quite unfortunately lost to time
Settlement is a complex matter; technical first: how do you do it? Then there's time: how long is this going to take? And finally: is it right to do it? What about life forms whose home you are about to wreck?
Are we doomed to dwell aimlessly across the stars? Paul Zeig, Philosopher - excerpt from his memoirs found after his demise - in the void

Terraforming refers to the large-scale modification of a planet's environment to make it habitable for human life.

Atmospheric adjustments, such as introducing greenhouse gases to warm the planet or seeding the atmosphere with genetically engineered microorganisms to produce oxygen, is generally the initial step of Terraforming. However, this step can also involve the removal of less desired gases.

Surface engineering is another critical aspect, involving the modification of planetary terrain to support water retention, soil formation, and plant growth.

Terraforming is not limited to planetary surface: artificial habitats, often of a greatly reduced scale, can also be subjected to the above techniques.

Research

Tier2.400A decimal number between 0.0 and ~12.0 indicating the overall level of "advancement" of the science
TypePurePure sciences are focused on research and the improvement of knowledge. Applied sciences are too, but to a lesser extent and grant access to more concrete outcomes such as blueprints, governance, and others.
